Abstract

Abstract (1) The article on the adjustment of traverse networks by R. Gwilliam in the October, 1959, issue of the Empire Survey Review (xv, 114, 182–187) was of particular interest as we are at present engaged on a survey to establish Reference Marks in the Municipality of Lusaka, Northern Rhodesia. We are fortunate in not having to depend entirely on traversing for control, as fairly accurate triangulated stations have been established at most of the major points in and around the town. However, there remains the problem of adjusting the traverses linking these trigonometrical stations to the nodal points of the Reference Mark System.
