Journal of the American Society for Naval EngineersVolume 68, Issue 4 p. 739-743 ADHESIVE BONDING OF POLYSTYRENE FOAM FOR NAVAL SERVICE H. J. STARK, H. J. STARK THE AUTHOR Mr. H. J. Stark is a Registered Professional Engineer, District of Columbia. He received his B.A. degree in chemistry from Lawrence College of Wisconsin in 1933. He worked as a research and analytical chemist from 1937 thru 1940 at the Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, D.C. He entered the Military Service with the Army Air Corps in 1940 serving in the New Guinea, Leyte, and Luzon Campaigns in the Pacific. Upon returning to civilian life in 1946 he continued his scientific work with the Bureau of Ships, Navy Department, Washington, D.C., where for the past ten years he has been a Materials Engineer in the Research Division conducting research in Plastics. Currently he is a Chemical Engineer with the U.S. Government in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the American Society of Naval Engineers, Society of Plastics Industry, Chemical Engineers Club of Washington, D.C., Fellow, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Horological Institute of America, Alpha Chi Sigma, and Reserve Officers Association of America.Search for more papers by this authorM. GLICKMAN, M. GLICKMAN Mr. M. Glickman received his technical training at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Sciences before and after Word War II. During the war he flew as a member of the Eighth Air Force and was awarded the D.F.C. In 1950 he joined the staff of the Industrial Test Laboratory of the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and worked in the metals section. In 1952 he became a member of the impregnated fabrics group of the research and development section. His work dealt primarily with synthetic fabrics. In 1953 he became a member of the foamed plastics group of the research and development section and currently is supervisor of the group. In 1956 he received a B.Sc. degree in Industrial Management from LaSalle College.
