Birnbaum's education includes a B.S. in Chemistry from the City College of New York; graduate work in Chemistry at the University of Maryland and Temple University and M.S. degrees in Public Administration from American University. He has been with the Navy Department in Washington since 1949 and is currently the Head of the Coatings and Chemistry Branch, Materials Development and Application Office, Naval Ship Engineering Center. He was previously employed in the Industrial Test Laboratory, Philadelphia Naval Shipyard from 1938 to 1949. In addition to ASNE, he is a member of the American Chemical Society, Chemical Society of Washington, Washington Paint Technical Group and the National Association of Corrosion Engineers.Search for more papers by this authorBERNARD M. TAYLOR, BERNARD M. TAYLOR Bernard M. Taylor earned an A.A. degree and a B.A. degree in Chemistry from the Boston University in 1950 and 1952, respectively. He also holds an M.S. degree in Chemistry which he received from Northeastern University in 1960. He has completed graduate courses in engineering management and administration at the American University, George Washington University and R.P.I. Prior to joining the Navy Department in 1955, Taylor served two years with the Armed Forces in the Far East. He spent eight years in the Chemical Laboratory at the Boston Naval Shipyard prior to joining the Bureau of Ships in 1963 as a Materials Engineer where he has specialized in the field of corrosion control.Search for more papers by this authorWILLIAM M.
