Abstract

Some chemical characteristics of the contact surface and the strength of adhesion have been investigated as a function of temperature, time of oxidation, and layer thickness (200–1000 μm) for polyethylene coatings welded to a catalytically active substrate. The effect of PE oxidation, in particular oxidation catalysed by the substrate, on the strength of adhesion has been revealed together with the influence of the investigated factors.
