Adequate statistical analyses and inferences of Randomized Clinical Trial.

Abstract

We appreciate the comments and concerns raised by Eckert and the opportunity to broaden the scientific debate about statistical approach and clinical inferences in clinical trials. The repercussion of our paper “Traditional Brazilian diet and extra virgin olive oil reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression in individuals with severe obesity: randomized clinical trial” [1] in Clinical Nutrition brought a relevant scientific discussion, which can expand knowledge in this field. On this letter we expose aspects that may not have been clear enough in our publication and also some conceptual and interpretation of clinical trials based on the most modern approaches [2–6].
