Abstract
Some characteristic features of the colonial morphology of the bryozoan order Melictrititida Pergens, 1890 are discussed. Although this order belongs to the class Stenolaemata, these features were not indicated in the diagnosis of this class. These features include funnel-shaped zooids, either elongated or shaped like shortened chambers; calcareous facettes, rhomboidal, pentagonal, or hexagonal; and zooidal apertures with a straight proximal edge and calcareous opercula, unique to bryozoans of this class.
