Abstract

The contemporary modernization and humanization of physical education implies radical changes in the stabilized traditions of physical education organization in public schools. According to authors, one of such ways, is the extension of conducting additional physical training classes. An attempt was made to observe the place of extracurricular physical-training classes in the public school physical education system. The researches show that through additional physical-training classes, it is possible to solve a number of pedagogical and social-psychological problems: to improve the health, to satisfy students’ physical and sport interests, to develop motor skills purposefully, to acquire knowledge and abilities to do physical exercises independently.
