Abstract

To eliminate emergency situations and damages to existing tenement buildings during construction and reconstruction of buildings in densely populated areas of the city, it is necessary to perform deformation analysis of the foundation beds not only of new (under design) buildings, but also of buildings that exist in the immediate vicinity. In designing individually standing buildings, the condition S~Slim should be satisfied in conformity with the requirements of the Construction Rules and Regulations, where s is the settlement of the bed as determined by computation, and Sli m is the limiting allowable bed settlement for the given type of building. A different connotation is imparted to the quantities s and Slim: average settlement, deflection, tilt, misalignment, etc., Sli m is established by combined computation of the bed-building system, or from reference tables.
