Abstract

We have identified a potential candidate for a high-throughput multi-analyte assay based on the optical compact disk (CD) in conjunction with adaptive homodyne detection using photorefractive quantum wells, and have succeeded in initial system tests that show our current ability to detect strips of immobilized molecules on a spinning disk of approximately 5 nm height. With the possibility of an improvement of nearly 100, this technique will be able to detect antibodies and antibody/antigen binding in immunological assays.
