Abstract

Results of adaptive interferometers operation based on photorefractive crystals and the effect of the non-steady-state photo-electromotive force are presented. The influence of an external ac electric field on the signal-to-noise ratio in adaptive detectors using the effect of non-steady-state photo-EMF is analysed. The nonresonant and resonant techniques of signal enhancement are considered. It is shown that the gain factor for the signal-to-noise ratio can be as high as 90 dB. The analysis is performed for the material parameters of Bi12SiO20 crystal.
