Abstract

Adaptive FDTD mesh generation technique based on cuboid ray column intersection method in three-dimensional FDTD simulation is proposed in this paper. According to the vertex coordinates of the triangular patches on the object's surface, non-uniform structured mesh lines are placed. Since the placement of these mesh lines is constrained by the object geometry and wavelength, this grid lines setting method is more accurate and efficient. Then by marking the meshes determined by the intersections of cuboid ray columns and triangular patches, the discretization of complex target can be realize. The parabolic antenna is modeled to prove the validity of this novel technique.
