Abstract

This paper, explores possible solutions for the feedback transfer functions applied in active RC filters for oscillation-based testing (OBT). Three types of filter transfer functions, namely low-pass (LP), high-pass (HP) and band-pass (BP) are examined. Active filters are realized with the realistic operational amplifier model targeting the 180nm CMOS technology. To confirm the theoretical insights, three realizations of LP, HP, BP second-order filterers with proposed feedbacks are designed and simulated. One of the solutions, namely the BP filter, is further examined by inserting defects in the circuit. Based on the time domain simulations, the key parameters are extracted from the oscillating filter’s output signal. The fault dictionary has been created and appropriate classification of the defects is performed.
