Abstract
The next generation wireless cellular network supports real-time multimedia services that require different quality of service (QoS) requirements while using a similar wireless infrastructure. Therefore, the demand for effective and careful resource allocation is immensely needed. In this paper, we propose a QoS bandwidth adaptive framework for controlling the traffic in multimedia wireless networks (MWN) that enhance the current methods used in cellular environments. The proposed framework is designed to take advantage of the bandwidth adaptation algorithm (BAA) with new calls in order to enhance the system utilization and blocking probability of new calls. Simulation results demonstrate an improvement over the unmodified version of the adaptive framework.
