Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the visions of sports managers regarding formation of consciousness of contemporary sports. In the study, self-transfer investigation method from descriptive models has been used in order to reveal present state. Self-transfer investigation has been carried out through survey that has been applied to participators. Sports managers who are official in organizations such as Directorate - General of Industrial Works, self-directed federations, Football Federation of Turkey, National Olympic Committee of Turkey, sports clubs, sporting complexes of municipal, Amateur Sports Clubs Confederation of Turkey, Amateur Sports Clubs Federation, National Paralympic Committee of Turkey, have constituted study group of investigation. The survey has been applied to 227 participators who are official in these organizations. The datum which have been acquired from surveys have been analyzed in statistical packaged software of Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences. In the evaluation of datum of survey, frequency division and percentage distributions have been used. At the end of investigation, the vision that consciousness of contemporary sports has not been developed in our country has come in view. The main reason of this situation has been determined as struggles in respect to this cannot be in corporate extent. For developing consciousness of contemporary sports it has been emphasized that youth setup of sports, education of sports and rules of sports must have been reorganized according to the this purpose.
