Abstract

The occurrence of total occlusion of the left main coronary artery (LMCA) is rare. Prognosis with complete LMCA occlusion is generally considered poor and essentially depends on the rate of obstruction and the extent of collateral circulation. The authors report a case of long-term survival after complete oc clusion of the left main coronary artery without prior development of collateral circulation.
