Abstract

A 37-year-old man was referred to our hospital for further evaluation of the gastric subepithelial lesion accidentally found during screening gastroscopy. The lesion was located on the greater curvature of the gastric body (Fig. 1a). Abdominal computed tomography (CT) demonstrated a 25-mm-diameter homogenously enhanced mass in the gastric wall (Fig. 1b). Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) showed a heterogeneous submucosal mass in the 3rd layer of the gastric wall (Fig. 1c). EUS-guided tissue acquisition (EUS-TA) was performed in three passes using a 22-gage Franseen needle (Acquire; Boston Scientific, Marlborough, MA, USA).
