Abstract
Co-infection of worm with plasmodium parasitaemia will exacerbate the pathophysiology of malaria parasitaemia. Clinical eveidence abound that malaria pathology is worsened in anaemia patient and worm infection can also cause anaemia. This case report is presented of a patient with hookworm infection diagnosed from vomitus containing an adult worm. It turned out to be unusual in that there are improved sanitation and water supply. Its diagnosis in this 21 century highlights the fact that parasitic infection is an aetiologic factor and therefore, demands concerted effort to improve living standards in hinterlands. Improving hygienic standard will reduce worm infection and consequently improve heamoglobin and immunity especially in under age children, hence will reduce malaria infection rate and its pathology.
