Abstract

Abstract In 1976, terminals containing eggs were collected from cotton plants in the field and egg locations were marked. The terminals were positioned on nearly mature cotton plants with the marked side upwards. Sprays were applied by hand sprayer or tractor. When the spray dried, the terminals were removed and placed on moist paper towels in covered containers. The containers were held for 2-10 days at 24°C in the laboratory. Total eggs versus eggs hatched were counted. Larvae that hatched but died were also counted. From these counts, the % eggs hatched and the % larvae that survived were determined.
