Abstract
The article substantiates the main stages of formation and development of farms. The vital needs of a farmer's family are highlighted, which determine the main strategic priorities of farming in conditions of instability. The dynamics of the number of farms in Ukraine and the area of agricultural land in their use, as well as the wages of the farmer's family and hired workers, were analyzed. An assessment of material and technical support for newly created farms with the size of land plots of 5, 20 and 50 hectares with a certain specialization before the start of military aggression was carried out. The average prices for agricultural products (2010−2022) were studied, in addition, the harvested area, the yield of the main agricultural crops and the production of plant and animal products by national farms were analyzed.
