Abstract
A school cannot flourish on academic probation. A new active learning and shared decision-making improvement plan, combined with stable leadership, has enabled Hirsch Metropolitan High School of Communications to quickly become a thriving school. Continued success for this southside Chicago school is dependent on tenure and retention of key faculty and staff.
