Abstract
The methodology of active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) and its practical analysis towards process control have been reviewed in this paper. An adaptive rate limitation is introduced as a modification of ADRC which is validated by application on a tank level control system. This paper investigates the set of experiments performed to study the effect of external disturbances, measurement noise and parametric variation on the system in real time environment. Experimental results show that modified ADRC is efficiently able to nullify the effect of uncertainty with better transient performance as compared to existing ADRC and Proportional-integral (PI) control.
