Abstract
This study proposes a planning method for active distribution networks that determines the optimal network reinforcement and expansion plan considering ancillary services provided by distributed generation (DG) units. The proposed method calculates the network's investment and operational costs in order to meet the future load demand as well as the connection of new loads and new DG units. Results on a 21-bus distribution system validate the method's performance.
