Abstract
The induction of the mouse metallothionein-I (MT-I) transcriptional regulatory region by heavy metals in cultured avian cells was studied in a transient-expression assay system for a growth hormone. The MT-I promoter was shown to be inducible by 10 μM to 90 μM ZnCl 2 in a dose-dependent manner.
