Abstract

The reactions of dioxygen with the binuclear tricoordinate copper(I) complexes, derived from the condensation of benzene- 1,3-dicarboxaldehyde and two molecules of a diamine, give phenoxy-bridged copper(II) complexes by direct hydroxylation of the benzene ring.
