Abstract
The article discusses the grounds and procedure of demolition of an unauthorised construction in the Russian and foreign legal systems, including the historical perspective. The author concludes that demolition is a responsibility of last resort. However, different countries have different approaches to balancing the interests of the parties involved in the demolition process.
