Abstract
This paper presents, an asymmetric co-planar strip (ACS) fed open-ended low profile antenna suitable for wireless and Internet-of-Things (IoT) applications. The proposed open-ended antenna encompasses L shaped strip connected to the feed line and an L-shape is extended with a 7-shape radiating element. A partial square shape ground plane structure is used. The designed antenna geometry evoked frequency of operation between 3.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz. The proposed antenna is designed in a low profile FR4 substrate with overall antenna geometry is 28.5 mm x 23 mm. The antenna provides a gain of 2.7 dBi with a radiation efficiency of 97.7 percent. By considering the operating frequency range and other antenna characteristics, the designed open-ended low profile antenna can be easily deployed into any portable wireless device that works for 4GHz IoT applications.
