Abstract

A new acoustic method of estimating property in rocks is presented. This method, called Differential Acoustic Resonance Spectroscopy or DARS, is based on measureing the changes in resonces of a cavity that is perturbed by the introduction of the sample. The change in the resonant frequency is used to characterize the velocity and acoustic properties of the rock sample. This article developed the numerical Differential Acoustic Resonance Spectroscopy simulation using the finite element (FE) method in COMSOL.
