Abstract

Entrepreneurship is a growing field that adds to the world's expanding globalization. Similarly, the Zakat Institution in Malaysia is concerned with the problem of development and poverty elimination. As a result, this study investigates and comprehends the accomplishments of asnaf entrepreneurs who acquire business capital aid in Malaysian zakat institutions based on the maqasid sharia through various concerns and queries. The first question is what business financing support the Malaysian Zakat Institution provides. The second point is to what extent is the attainment of business capital support for asnaf entrepreneurs in Malaysian zakat institutions according to the maqasid sharia. A qualitative case study research design was used in this study. The study sample was chosen using purposive sampling technique and certain criteria. Semistructured interviews were used to obtain data for this investigation. The researcher manually managed and analyzed the study data using the thematic method. The subject from the first question has resulted in the shape of financial capital support and equipment capital help. The second question of the resulting theme concerns the five important characteristics of maqasid sharia: religious success, life, intellect, lineage, and riches. This study shows that Malaysian zakat institutions provide financial and equipment capital support to asnaf entrepreneurs in alignment with the five characteristics of the maqasid sharia. The findings highlight the role of the maqasid sharia in guiding business capital support for asnaf entrepreneurs and promoting poverty elimination and development. This contributes to the literature on zakat institutions and entrepreneurship in Malaysia.
