Abstract

To achieve Curie transition temperature near to room temperature, Ba substituted lanthanum manganite (La0.67Ba0.33MnO3) bulk samples has been synthesized by solid state reaction route which exhibits a Curie transition temperature (Tc) of 330 K. X-ray diffraction pattern shows the formation of single phasic La0.67Ba0.33MnO3 without having any impurity phases. Scanning electron micrograph reflects the polygonalization of a single grain and the compact arrangement of the grains. The grains form trigonal, tetragonal and somewhere pentagonal grain boundary junction. The small grains in between the big grains favors the double exchange interaction for which a long range ferromagnetic ordering is established in La0.67Ba0.33MnO3 sample.
