Abstract
Single image dehazing is performed by solving atmospheric scattering model(ASM), which depends on atmospheric light and transmission. Therefore, accurate estimation of transmission and atmospheric light is essential for quality de-hazing. The accuracy in transmission depends on accurate value of atmospheric light. Several methods have been proposed in literature to estimate atmospheric light. However, these methods inaccurately estimates atmospheric light in the presence of objects brighter than atmospheric light in input hazy image. Therefore, a robust method to accurately estimate the atmospheric light is proposed in this paper. The robustness and accuracy of the proposed method is evaluated using HazeRD dataset, which proves the accuracy and robustness of the proposed method.
