Abstract

Standardisation plays an important role in many areas of human activity. Well-organized information system supports standardisation and increases interest in it. This paper presents electronic information sources about standards, created in the European Union. The author compares search engines created by the National Standards Bodies of the 27 European Union countries and European Standards Organisations (the European Committee for Standardization CEN, European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization CENELEC, European Telecommunications Standards Institute ETSI). The investigation of the user interfaces, usage of information languages and presentation of results was carried in order to choose the most effective and usable search engine.
