Abstract
AbstractThis article seeks to explore why Roman Catholics have responded so negatively to the Left Behind Series. The article critically evaluates the charges that Pentecostal and Evangelical expectations of the rapture are necessarily ‘fundamentalist’ or inherently ‘anti-Catholic’. By presenting the Catholic Church's history of its own apocalyptic movements and its experience in America, the author suggests ways that Roman Catholics and Pentecostals can strengthen each by sharing elements of each other's understanding of the Book of Revelation.
