Abstract
The population densities, number of species and communities of Acari and Collembola in various moorland soils near Malham, Yorkshire, have been described by the author in other papers in this series (Wood 1967 a, 1967b). The present paper is concerned with vertical distribution in four of these sites. The soils and vegetation were described by Wood (1967a), and only a brief description is required of the four sites concerned here.
