Abstract

The article analyzes the main problems of organization and activities of academic expeditions in Siberia in the 18th century, the study of which is devoted to the monograph by I.A.Shipilov. The research of a young Siberian historian convincingly proves that academic expeditions to Siberia were a factor in the development of science and the modernization of Russia. As a result of recreating the activities of the auxiliary personnel of the expeditions, the author of the monograph managed not only to show the composition of this personnel, but also to explore its role in the scientific study, political and economic development of Siberia. I.A.Shipilov shows the process of formation of individual representatives of the support staff of academic expeditions in outstanding Russian scientists – S.P.Krasheninnikov, A.D.Krasilnikov, N.P.Sokolov, V.F.Zuev and others.
