Abstract

AbstractIn the recent past unified modeling language has gained popularity for its use in the software industry of the design of software systems. The UML allows to implement the software systems using an object-oriented paradigm. The pictorial graphical representation of a software system is provided to the developer as well as to the end-user. The UML diagrams are broadly classified into two types with static and dynamic diagrams. The UML sequence and activity diagrams which represent the behavior of a system. In a sequence diagram, the objects communicate by passing messages, and in an activity diagram the activities flow from one event to another event. This paper proposes an automated tool that transforms the UML sequence diagram which is available in the table format into its equivalent activity diagram. The proposed tool reads the contents of the sequence-table such as messages, objects, object’s interactions, alternative ALT, and iterative LOOP and converts them into its amenable Activity-Table. Further, the automated tool scans the Activity-Table and then generates an equivalent activity diagram.KeywordsActivity diagramActivity-TableSequence diagramSequence-table
