Abstract
Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is the most common inherited kidney disorder and a common cause of end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Local pressure effect of the cysts on the surrounding renal parenchyma is thought to be a mechanism in the gradual deterioration in renal function. Percutaneous cyst sclerotherapy has been demonstrated to be a safe and effective procedure for cyst size reduction however, its effects on intra-renal pressures and renal function are still unknown. This study was intended to measure the localized pressure effects of cyst aspiration.
