Abstract

Thyrotropin-secreting pituitary adenomas (TSH-omas) constitute < 1 % of all pituitary adenomas. Despite ultrasensitive immunometric assays for TSH, and the measurement of circulating free thyroid hormones, diagnosing this condition continues to be a challenge. We report the case of a middle-aged female who presented clinically with mild thyrotoxicosis and was ultimately diagnosed with a TSH-oma.
