Abstract

Pheochromocytoma (PCC) is defined as a catecholamine-secreting tumor of the adrenal medulla. Diagnosis is frequently made by measuring catecholamines in the urine and plasma. Excess catecholamines directly stimulate the production of glucose as well as impeded glucose disposal resulting in hyperglycemic state. Our objective is to report on a case of a patient with PMHx of Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 (DMT2) with hyperglycemia and hypertension with elevated catecholamines.
