Abstract

The system, consisting of metal insulator-metal composite films in which metal particles are dispersed in dielectric or conductive host matrices, exhibits good photothermal conversion. In this paper, we have investigated the absorption properties of very thin films of Sn, In and Ni embedded in a dielectric medium. From the reflectance spectra of these systems, the total absorptance has been calculated and is found to be in the range 0.78–0.82.
