Abstract

Sn-doped CdSe thin films have been prepared by the thermal vacuum evaporation. The optical absorption spectra in the range of their exponential behaviour are analyzed for annealed and light soaked samples. The constant photo current method has been used to study the sub band gap absorption process for nanocrystalline Sn doped CdSe(nc-CdSe:Sn) thin films. The urbach behaviour of optical absorption edge is studied. Slope of urbach which is a measure of disorder has been calculated. The density of states is calculated from absorption coefficient by using first derivative of absorption coefficient.
