Abstract
1. A study was made of the abrasive and strength properties of monocrystalline Mo2B5 and W2B5 grains. It was established that, within the grain size range investigated, the abrasive and strength properties of these single crystals are linearly related, with a very high degree of correlation, to their size. 2. It was found that the abrasive ability of Mo2B5 and W2B5 single crystals is linearly related to their strength. 3. Mo2B5 and W2B5 single crystals are superior in abrasive ability and strength to corundum materials.
