Abstract

Experimental solubility and activity coefficient data have been compiled from the published literature for organic solutes dissolved in anhydrous diisopropyl ether. The compiled experimental values were converted into solubility ratios, gas-to-diisopropyl ether partition coefficients (K), and water-to-diisopropyl ether partition coefficients (P) using standard thermodynamic relationships. The calculated solubility ratios and partition coefficients were correlated with the Abraham solvation parameter model. The derived Abraham model correlations described the observed solubility and partition coefficient data to within 0.14 log units (or less).
