Abstract

This article discusses the method of optimal design of one of the possible designs of a linear electric generator with permanent magnets based on the application of the genetic algorithm method. In the optimization, a complex criterion was used, built on the interrelation of the mass-dimensional characteristics of a linear electric generator. An algorithm is proposed for determining the main geometric dimensions of the magnetic system of an electric generator. According to the optimization results, the optimal variant of the design of a linear electric generator was obtained, ensuring its specified parameters. To verify the adequacy of the methodology, the calculation of the electromotive forces of the generator windings in idling mode was carried out on the basis of the use of the ANSYS Electromagnetic Suite software package. Analysis of the simulation results confirmed the adequacy of the obtained design results.
