Abstract

The literature on psychological aspects of induced abortions and repeated abortion-seeking behavior is surveyed, and ongoing field studies in the United States and other countries are summarized. The relationship of abortion and contraception is considered, and the implications of the prostaglandins as a means of “postconception family planning” are discussed.
