Abstract

The results of examination of 20 patients with unrecognized hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS), delivered directly to the surgical departments on duty in the presence of acute abdominal syndrome, are presented. 8 people were operated on for erroneous indications, 5 of them died in the days following the operation from acute renal failure. With extremely rare exceptions, the "acute abdomen" in HFRS is false and does not require surgical treatment.
