Abstract
Ossifying fibroma is a rare, slow-growing, benign, non-odontogenic tumour of the jaw seen in the head and neck region. This article presents the case of residual cyst in the right-side mandibular region of a 38-year old female patient. The patient gave a history of swelling in the right lower back tooth region (46- FDI system) which was diagnosed as missing tooth of a previous extraction done 4 years back. Clinically and radiographically, the lesion resembled residual cyst of odontogenic origin whereas histopathologically the examination revealed, a diagnosis of Ossifying Fibroma with aneurysmal bone cystic degeneration which mimic and masqueraded each other.
