Abstract

The article analyses the concept “internally displaced people” (IDP). The current legislative principles concerning legal support of people forced to leave their area of permanent residence in Ukraine are highlighted. A number of problems in this sphere are disclosed, the ways of their overcoming are offered.The essence and specificity of school socio-pedagogical work with families of internal migrants in a multicultural educational space, as well as the conditions of successful adaptation, support and protection of children from the above mentioned families into new socio-cultural environment of educational establishment. The necessity to turn the latter into the “open” system that will allow a person-oriented approach to students and use the potential of different societies in the educational process is proved.The importance of studying IDP families by teachers in order to identify their structure and socio-educational potential is emphasized. The specialists’ level of readiness to work with children and families who have found themselves in difficult life circumstances is analyzed, the reasons for its low efficiency are found out. The authors outline a number of problems through which social teachers of educational institutions either do not work with the target group at all or do it occasionally, thereby reducing the effectiveness of such work. According to the results of the monitoring study, the factors of successful social adaptation of this category of children to school are identified.
