Abstract

A new configuration for common-mode (CM) noise absorption and suppression is proposed in a two-layer printed circuit board. By directing CM noise to a resistor, that can be absorbed and dissipated as heat. In measurement, broad CM noise absorption and suppression bands are achieved from 2.19 – 3.02 GHz and 1.78 – 3.11 GHz, respectively. Most of all, an ultra-compact size of 0.029 λg2 is achieved by a single-cell structure.
