Abstract

The study presents simulation and analyses of a multifunctional single layer metasurface performing both linear and circular polarization conversion. The unit cell of the metasurface comprises of tilted umbrella shape with a slit in it achieving both linear and circular polarization conversion in frequency bands of (10.34-10.57 GHz and 13.53-16.98 GHz) and (10.14-10.219 GHz, 10.84-12.55 GHz and 18.12-18.98 GHz) respectively with more than 90% efficiency. The overall optimized structure of the unit cell results in a stable response for oblique incidence angle up to 45° both for both operations. The proposed metasurface offers a simple planar structure, with compact size and angular stability and is thus suitable for various applications like microwave filtering, satellite communication and polarization conversion devices.
