Abstract

The case of a 12-year-old boy with diffuse arthralgia initially misdiagnosed as systemic onset juvenile idiopathic arthritis is described. The diagnosis of Crohn disease was eventually posed based on high faecal calprotectin level and suggestive ultrasound abdominal images. The authors underline how Crohn disease may present without abdominal symptoms.
